My client, a leading machinery manufacturer are seeking a Spares Manager to join their busy commercial customer support team
Purpose of Role
Responsible for spares for existing range of company equipment on a worldwide market Reporting to the Factory Manager, responsible for the effective operation of this successful team and attaining significant growth in sales and profit in line with Group objectives.
This position includes co-ordinating the activities of the department, identification & implementation of new processes in line with continual improvement and liaison with all levels of the business to ensure optimum performance as well as an active ‘hands on’ approach and productivity.
The role comprises maintaining direct customer contact with a high degree of communication, identifying requirements, provide solutions, proposals and all aspects of order processing with a high level of business awareness and budget controls.
This requires extensive technical engineering and product knowledge, on-site work experience as a vital skill base essential to meet the demands of the customer. Ideally enhanced with professional management training qualifications.
An extensive use of a network PC, good command of keyboard skills and knowledge of Microsoft products is used to compile proposals, internal reports, maintain database records, performance analysis and documentation.
The role also includes operating and overseeing the order processing side of the company Sage manufacturing system and requires an in depth knowledge of the systems.
This department and the work carried out is highly profitable, generating a significant and consistent contribution to the company's overall business levels and is an essential part of the overall customer service level now being demanded by their customers.
The role includes export and despatch logistics’ for all equipment produced by company. This includes export documentation, commercial invoicing, letter of credit, liaising with couriers and freight agencies and improvements to export/despatch processes.
To manage the Spares Department team functions in an effective and efficient manner.
To achieve the performance targets defined by the company and where possible exceed those targets and profits.
Liaise with all levels of the organisation to ensure efficient and effective operation.
Maintain a high level of customer support leading to customer satisfaction to ensure repeat / continual business throughout the organisation.
Develop new initiatives and enhancements designed to increase the services offered by the company in line with customer requirements and business growth.
Maintain data and provide KPI reports for senior management.
Export and despatch logistics’ and improvements to export/despatch processes.
Excellent customer services skills with the ability to build and manage client relationships
Proven leadership and management skills
Excellent communication skills both internal customer and external customers
Manage a small team

Up to date driving licence and passport
Must have a hands on approach
Experience and background:
Bespoke Machinery manufacture background or experience would be an advantage
Evidence of managing a small team
Relevant engineering qualification
