Job Title: Engineering Sales Support/ Stores Person
Salary: £26000 – £28000
Permanent Role, full time Monday to Friday 8.00am – 5.00pm with a one hour lunch break

Applicants do not need any formal qualifications within the industry but must show: a willingness to learn all aspects of compressed air engineering and an aptitude for technical aspects of the role; commitment to working as part of a team and an understanding of the importance of customer service.
Reporting to Service Director the role is to manage the purchases of over million pounds worth of stock per annum by procuring the best prices, placing orders, progressing orders, receiving goods, and managing the stores to ensure stock available and replaced in a timely manner as required. You will also provide internal Sales support by preparing orders and dealing with enquiries.
An essential part of the role is to complete the cycle of purchasing by completing administration and updating the computer based purchase and sales systems.
You will handle internal sales enquiries in person by visitors and by telephone, and complete sales orders for despatch.
As a prime part of the role you will also order and ensure the supply of internal spare parts for the service team and to ensure the day to day running of the stock of goods ensuring all customers: internal and external receive goods in a timely manner and to ensure that the stores is running smoothly and is a safe place to work.
You will be primarily office based with support to the teams from time to time for delivery of urgent spares.
1. Purchasing and Sales
To handle enquiries of compressor spare parts includes telephone and email enquiries, take orders and process enquiries.
To organise prepare and place the monthly compressed air servicing spare parts as required by the Service Team and urgent items for repairs/breakdowns on a daily basis.
Provide quotations for goods to customers
To complete Purchase Orders for goods received
To prepare delivery notes for goods out
To process Sales Orders ready for Invoicing
To progress orders placed as required
To assist and serve customers calling in to site for general parts
To file all goods in notes
To maintain live Sales Order files/and file all completed invoiced orders
To complete the customer relational database with accurate information.
2. Stock Control
To receive daily deliveries, and using SAGE Accounts, check off the order system and complete the order process, prepare for despatch/re-shelving or storing of stock to either: the customer to whom the goods are sold to, to the service department by customer, or to the agreed stock area as required.
To check stock levels of parts used on a regular basis and advise stock replenishment needs in a timely manner.
To keep an inventory of capital assets so that a stock list is available for goods available for hire or sale. The inventory to include new, used and for repair and to have the service/maintenance records listed for inspection ready to go out.
To ensure clear identification of parts/goods in and readiness for the service team in order that the engineers can identify customer parts quickly so as to avoid down time.
To ensure consumables eg gloves, rag, oil soak pads are maintained at adequate levels by purchasing by agreement with the line manager.
To pack goods for despatch appropriately, shrink wrapping on pallets if required, and weighing for couriers/post. To arrange collections/transport of parcels and capital goods
To load and off load goods using a fork-lift truck as required.
To store goods in appropriate areas ensuring Health and Safety standards/procedures are adhered to.
To assist with stock check on an annual basis, complete pricing and produce stock check figures as and when required.
3. Engineering support
To learn and complete compressed air installation techniques in order to have a thorough understanding of compressed air safety and installation and to gain knowledge of parts required.
4. Building/Yard Checks/Environmental/other duties
To complete weekly reports on condition of Building/Yard/Stores and Storage areas and submit to H&S Advisor.
To help with yard, workshop and premises tidying as may be required and managing recycling/waste activities as may be required.
To adhere to safe working standards and to the Health and Safety policy ensuring work is carried out safely, reporting any concerns to the Health and Safety Advisor and to your line manager.
To on occasion collect/deliver urgent spare parts to Engineers or Customers/Suppliers as may be requested. Use of a Company vehicle will be provided for this. Subject to full car driving licence with less than 3 points.
