Press Brake Operator
Technique Recruitment Solutions are a specialist Engineering & Manufacturing recruitment company based in Norfolk. We are working closely with our prestigious client who have multiple manufacturing sits across Norwich and due to massive growth they have multiple vacancies available for time served workshop/manufacturing operatives
Job Purpose:
To set, program and operate a CNC metal profiling machine (Laser and/or Punchpress) to manufacture components for assemblies required for vehicle production, projects and special orders as required.
· Produce components for assemblies on a CNC Metal profiling machine (Laser and/or Punchpress)
· Machine start-up, set-up and programme selection
· Tool selection ,cleaning, sharpening & set-up
· Reading of Engineering Drawings
· Inspection parts First off/last off prior to next operation
· Completion of batch cards.
· Identification of maintenance concerns & first level resolution.
· Moving parts to next operation.
· Work in accordance with Health & Safety guidelines including keeping work area and machine clean and tidy.
· Responsible for using and keeping in good condition P.P.E.equipment supplied.
· Understand the need & work within the Company’s flexible working patterns.
· Understand & respond to the quality & process feedback system
· Advise when Tooling is damaged or worn out and needs replacing.
· Meet quality & production targets as set by the area Supervisor.
· Keeping themselves & others safe at all times
Essential Criteria
· GCSE (or equivalent) Maths
· General Fabrication and sheetmetal experience
· Attention to detail and good communication skills. The ability to read engineering drawings
· Ability to work as part of a team or individually as and when required
· Attention to detail
· Must be able to understand & communicate effectively both written & verbal
· This role can be physically challenging & candidates need to be able to carry out physical tasks including heavy lifting
Candidates will need to be able to set and operate the following machinery.
Amada HFE 3i 5020
Amada EG4010
Amada HFE 5012
Amada HFE 8025
Candidates will also need to be able to understand and read automotive engineering drawings, be able to follow hit point drawings with a view to programming the above machinery to its optimum performance, use precision measuring equipment to check quality of output and to understand the finer points of correct tool selection and setting for each job. Candidates must also set and operate the machinery within strict safety guidelines.
Previous background and experience in automotive bespoke part manufacturing is a distinct advantage.
