Job Title: Stores Controller
Location: Ely, Cambridgeshire
Technique Recruitment Solutions are working on behalf of our client that produces the highest quality proprietary components and conducts innovative scientific R&D, in-house design, prototyping and testing.
They are looking for someone to become an integral part of the small in house production team, who is motivated and willing to learn. They will be responsible for materials control, goods-in and goods-out, and general housekeeping of Stores area.
Hours of work
0800-1700 Monday to Thursday, 0800-1600 Friday
With the aim of providing world class products for process solutions within the oil, gas and chemical industries, Cambridgeshire-based Oil & Gas Measurement Limited (OGM) seeks a Stores Controller.
Responsibilities & Duties
Materials control: Responsible for goods in and goods out
Maintain accurate records of stock movement and both goods in and goods out
Maintain quality and traceability of all materials and work to company quality procedures
Responsible for recording stock movements
Use correct stock rotation, first in – first out
Responsible for storage and handling of precision mechanical parts and electronic/electrical parts and assemblies
Organise stock control, labelling and part numbering of materials
Ensure materials are clearly marked with stock codes and batch/serial numbers to ensure traceability
Carry out regular stock checks as directed
Submit purchasing request to replenish consumables
Goods In Receive deliveries through the company stores
Perform goods in inspections for condition and quantity
Identify items with relevant PO/contract numbers
Collate paperwork to include material certification, certificate of conformity and delivery notes
Enter goods received onto Sage computer system and correlate items received to the purchase order to ensure order requirements are fulfilled
Record transfer of goods between warehouses in Sage
Goods Out Responsible for packing and shipping of materials and products
Accurately pick items in accordance with outgoing paperwork ensuring conformance to the customer’s requirements
Ensure all relevant paperwork is present and correct with items/products
Record all workshop consumables issued
Liaise with logistics to provide weights, dimensions and photographic records
General Maintain working area and stores. Keep free from hazards as per company Health and Safety policy, reporting any potential dangers to the supervisor
Maintain and control hazardous chemicals and materials – experience with COSHH
Comply with company procedures
Maintain stores consumables stock
Computer literate: Excel, MS Office, Sage (or similar stock control software)
Clean driving licence
Work with minimum supervision
Excellent attention to detail
