A note from us 📝

April brought new opportunities to us and our candidates!

With the new tax year underway, businesses across Norfolk and Suffolk have been able to re-evaluate their budgets and open up some new and exciting vacancies!

If you job search felt a bit slow at the start of 2025, we encourage you to try again; you might find your perfect role waiting for you! We have highlighted four of our new vacancies in this newsletter, three of which are management positions, so be sure to have a look.

Behind the scenes at Technique 👀

On the 1st April we celebrated yet another Technique work anniversary. Jenny Westlake, manager of our Hospitality division has officially been part of the team for a whole year – how time flies!

We also had the pleasure of meeting many new faces at the Norwich Jobs Fair this month.

The team were so busy chatting to candidates, that Vicky barely had time to snap any group pics! But after a few tries, she got the shot and updated our website with a fresh new team picture.

Finally, Katrina and Vicky were excited to see their latest project come to life at Norwich Airport! Sadly, this was a work trip, so they left without hopping on a flight to catch some sunshine.

If you are lucky enough to be heading off somewhere and spot our ad, let us know what you think!

Recruitment Tips & Insights 💡

id you know that 23% of UK businesses hired temporary, contract or freelance workers in the first quarter of 2025? (Source: Total Jobs UK)

This is a positive increase from the end of 2024, where rates had been declining throughout the year.

Temporary work provides a good opportunity for candidates to:

  • Gain experience in a particular area
  • Return to work quickly after a break
  • Build a network in their chosen industry
  • Create more of a work/life balance

It can also help businesses stay flexible. Temporary recruitment can be used to cover fixed term projects, maintain a cost-effective workforce, or bring in specialist skills when needed.

What we’re loving locally 📍

We’re introducing this section into our newsletter to share some of our favourite local spots in Norfolk and Suffolk, from day trips to restaurants and cafes.

This one is for all the parents out there!

Katie Gell recommends heading to Eaton Park for a low cost day out! She and her 2-year-old son enjoyed a few treats at the café and a ride on the steam train.

The train costs £2 for an adult and £1 for a child and runs every Sunday and bank holiday (11am – 4pm) throughout Spring and Summer.

Got older children? Eaton Park is perfect for them, too. Jenny Hulcoop had a lovely picnic in the park while her 10-year-old twins tested their skills on the skate park, and watched the boats race around the pond!

What’s next for Technique? 🗓️

Many members of our team are off enjoying some well-earned holiday next month, so we’re expecting the office to be more quiet than usual!

We’re excited to attend some networking events and client meetings; nothing beats connecting with other local businesses.
